Where Am I?

art or chair

I love Houston and I miss it terribly. I’m currently in Austin getting fricking drunk at the STAPLE show and then preparing to meet with legislators on Monday and Tuesday at the Capitol (as part of my day job). Yes, you should be worried. Regardless, I took this photo in Houston… somewhere.

In regards to SXSW: The heck with it! Too many damn patchouli hippie wannabees running around the street with their silly acoustic guitar crap. Get a job you smelly bums. I have no sympathy for the music industry.

Actually – most people I know that are going to sxsw (like myself) are going for the interactive festival.

We’re going to that b/c we do have jobs – that are sending us there – but don’t have time to go for the music

Ah, the trials of tribulations of being gainfully employed and non-smelly.

SXSW, the interactive fest was always way too oddly nerdy for me. I didn’t fit in. SXSW the music fest was great when it first started (I went 5 of the first 6 years), but it is basically just what you describe now.

I kinda want to go to the film festival but I’m afraid someone might find out that I actually go see mainstream films and I’d be left on the cutting room floor, if you know what I mean.
