Tiësto @ Warehouse Live Tomorrow Followed By A Sunrise Party at M Bar!

I typically don’t consider Wednesday night a going out type of night. But when someone who up until last year was the #1 DJ in the world (currently #2) according to DJ Mag is coming to Houston, I’m going to make an exception.

If you’ve listened to any form of dance music, you’ve undoubtedly heard about DJ Tiësto. He has helped spread the trance genre worldwide with his tracks, remixes, and DJ sets. There is no denying his place as one of the greatest in trance history. Some love him (“TIËSTOOOO!!!!!”), others despise him (“trance is cheesy!”), and others just assume every trance song is made by him (“Oh, you listen to trance? Tiësto?”). You can probably guess what group I’m in.

It should be no surprise then that Tiësto’s set tomorrow at Warehouse Live sold out almost a week in advance. Many potential party goers who had waited until the last minute were extremely disappointed, and some ended up paying 3 times the original $30 ticket price. 1600 tickets would seem like enough for a normal DJ set, especially on a Wednesday. In any case, there were not enough tickets.

So the fabulous people at 77002 did something I absolutely did not expect: they somehow managed to pull together a 2nd set (dubbed “The Sunrise Party”) at M Bar. You can purchase regular tickets for $30 or VIP tickets for $40. GrooveTickets also charges a $3.97 transaction fee for each ticket. Personally, I think the tickets for the after-hours event are a bit high given that a) the main event starts at 2:30 A.M. on a Wednesday and b) there will most likely not be liquor there since it’s after 2. But I am happy that the 77002 crew put in the extra effort and I realize that they have to cover their costs.

Of course the cost didn’t stop me from buying my ticket. It shouldn’t stop you either! Make sure you don’t miss out on what will be one of the greatest dance events in Houston this year.

I’ll be at both events. If you see me, please introduce yourself! With 1600 people there, it might be hard, but you never know..
