See the silly monkey?

In a classic case of “bait and switch,” your elected officials are set to vote on the single largest tax increase in Texas history. House Bill 3, the Perry/Dewhurst Business Tax will be voted on when the 79th Legislature is called back into session at 2PM today.

The proponents of the tax increase are calling it a reduction in real estate property tax. That it is. But, the average savings for a homeowner in Texas is a scant $15, while the increase in tax on small business will be devastating. Small business employs more people in the state than any other sector and because they operate on a slim 5% margin, this tax will be crippling. If the bill passes, all Texans will suffer – uh, except for those who own the big businesses.

There is still time to voice your opinion to your representative. Email AND call your Senator, the Lt. Governor… everyone you can and urge them to vote NO for this wholly unfair tax. Not sure who represents you? Click HERE and put in your address. You will get all their contact info.
