‘Hoppy’ Easter!

Well, well, well! It’s that time of year again! Our Houston meteorologists predict a sunny and (perhaps slightly?) humid weather for the Easter holiday weekend.

You might want to check out these events planned for Easter for the family:

1) Easter at Moody Gardens – I haven’t been there in ages! http://www.moodygardens.com/specials.html

2) Easter weekend at the Kemah Boardwalk – I’ve heard that there will be lots of fun here: egg-hunting, decorating, even pinatas! Hmmm, that’s a thought. Lots of Easter candy, that’s for sure. http://www.kemahboardwalk.com/flash_content/flash_content.html

For adults and your buddies and/or significant others:

1) Burgers, beer and baseball! @ Red Lion Pub
2) For romance and brunch @ Backstreet Cafe

Awww, too bad the Galleria will be closed for Easter Sunday. It’s booming business over there. Nevertheless, I’m sure there are a tons of cafes and restaurants for Easter brunches. Also, local parks are great for picnics and egg-huntings—perfect for the kids… and adults too! (It wouldn’t hurt to be like a kid every now and then!)

Just be sure your entire family packs enough sunscreen and a first aid kit (just in case), because our little ones tend to get into scrapes and bruises so easily with all of the Easter egg-citement. Now that reminds me of the time when a tough, sharp blade of grass cut me on my knee when I was little. It stung after the blood was washed off and my knee was applied with alcohol… *shudder* Gross.

Be sure to also supervise your kids and take a break from work. After all, we deserve a break every now and then! This spring is definitely warm for it! It should give us a chance to rekindle or even start new relationships with others. Or perhaps you’re expecting your little one to come into this world? Whatever it is, springtime, especially Easter, reminds us of the spirit of living, appreciating just the simplest things in life.

Have a very happy ‘hoppy’ Easter!
