Roula and Ryan, Mark II

First off, let me get the event/news information out of the way..

Roula and Ryan are having a party at Senior Rita’s, this Sunday at 4pm. Clicking the link will take you to the b-4-u-eat page with address and information on the restaurant.

Secondly.. I receive, in e-mail, every comment left to the three previous posts that I wrote on this subject. I’ve noticed a disturbing trend, lately. Interspersed amongst the comments about the events surrounding the firing of Roula and Ryan, there have been many directly derrogatory and childishly worded statements about Sam Malone, Mix 96.5, and Clear Channel Radio. While I full support your right to express your opinion, I think comments like “Sam Malone sucks balls” are going a bit overboard.

Now, I won’t be deleting any comments (unless our city captain, or the metblogs guys tell me I have to (or a comment is deemed spam)), but I have to verbally wrist-slap those of you leaving such comments. Surely we are above such childish actions. If you’re ten years old, okay, fine, I can excuse it. But I sincerely doubt the readers leaving said comments are of that age. Try being a little more adult, folks. I understand you’re upset, but c’mon…

(NOTE: The above-quoted comment was not the only one of that nature, though – thus far – it is the worst. Other comments are viewable on the above-linked entries.)

Someone seems to be taking teh interw3b, and this forum in particular, very seriously.

I think there’s been some big misunderstanding. It’s become apparent that not everybody likes what has gone down at the station. The truth is that even when you want to see a friendly, amicable outcome to a situation, some things just can’t be helped. I’ve tried over the last few weeks to not feel like a victim in all of this. It’s not a very becoming attitude to have, I suppose.

Let it be known that I have no hard feelings towards anyone who chooses to express their opinions and vent their frustrations. None whatsoever. It’s a free country, right? Bring it on, I say. What I can’t stand is bickering and arguing over what appear to be petty details and facts.

SO..I just want to take this oppportunity to get something out in the open and set the record straight–I DO SUCK BALLS.

I say good riddance to R&R. They were annoying and classless. As for the new programming on 96.5, I can’t say I’m a big fan of that either. I’m just surprised that people have as much energy as they do to rant and rave about this situation. There are so many other important things in the world to get worked up about than the saga of a radio station’s morning show! C’mon Houston, we can do better than that!

Roula & Ryan sucked big time. Pair of boring geeky people! She is so thick and he is so shallow often sounding like high school kids. R&R = Very annoying people. Most annoying of all was the shameless constant FREE advertising of her parents restaurant.

She seemed to remind us every hour with some boring anecdote of working in her parents restaurant and even had her father plugging his restaurant on their show as some kind of game. Her employer ought to bill her for all that advertising time.

Eric however was the biggest pain the a$$ I’ve ever heard on the radio. Good riddance! I don’t like Malone’s show much but really anything is an improvement on Roula & Ryan.

I welcome the change at 96.5!! Those ‘War of the Roses’ segments were so fake. I can’t believe they pawned them off as legitimate calls.

Hey, I won’t say that Sam Malone sucks balls…I’ll just say that I won’t bother to tune to KHMX’s morning show anymore. Between the aimless boring blabbering of Sam and the hyena laugh of Natalie it has just been too much to endure. I was a long time MIX listener, all the way back to Shelby and Larry, but this takeover didn’t work for me! Sam is a perfect fit for AM talk radio (or any old fart station}. Why does Houston have to endure 2 show with Sam?!?!? My friends and family have all tuned to the Dean and Rog show (93.7) for the morning show and then we tune to XM radio. I can only hope that in time Clear Channel will feel the pain of the upcoming XM and Sirius market bid!

I woke up one morning and the “Annoying happy people” Roula and Ryan, PUT ME IN A GREAT MOOD!!! Along with many others due to the fact that they were voted best morning radio show. I never really knew what happened but I do not listen to the Mix anymore because it is not the same. Roula, Ryan , and Eric we miss you! Sam, good luck to you as well.

I have nothing against Sam myself. I was an avid listener to the 104 Morning Show dating back to my high school years in the mid-90’s. The reason why I don’t appreciate his humor anymore is his association with the business that seems to have engaged in some rather unprofessional and underhanded practices. I don’t blame him, but neither will I listen to the station.

Seeking alternatives to suit my limited attention span, Walton and Johnson have been a recent find, and they are, to use the vernacular – ‘frickin’ hilarious’.

Other than being boring and not having fun segments like War of the Roses, I have nothing against Sam, but I desperately miss Roula and Ryan. I actually looked forward to getting up when my alarm went off and heard their voices. I am an older listener and have been with MIX since Larry and Susan. Now I have moved on after searching the dial, to Dean & Rog. They’re OK, but as soon as R & R come back I’ll switch to wherever they are

I work in New Orleans, but when I come home I always listen to Roula,Ryan and Eric. I don’t like Sam Malone no offense Sam. What KHMX and Clear Channel did was very wrong. When I’m Home now I listen to Country Legends 97.1. I don’t Like any other morning show on the Houston air waves. I will always keep checking to see if your on the air when I come home.

Can’t wait to hear you back on airwaves

I have never written a complaint about anything as seemingly trivial as a change in radio programming;however, I feel the need to do so in light of my recent quest to determine the fate of Roula & Ryan. I am extremely disappointed that the numerous fans were discounted as unimportant in KHMX’s decision to terminate R&R, replace them with the inane babbling and giggling boring twosome of Sam & …can’t even recall her name. I was PO’d when Larry & Shelby disappeared, but at least R&R kept e laughing in the a.m. I am so bored with the replacements that I no longer listen to a.m. radio. I think that KHX’s decision was foolish..only tie will tell. In the meantime, does anyone know which radio station that R&R have moved?
