Change in track and evacuation…

Rita’s track, as of 10am, has moved significantly eastward from previous. It now appears as if it will make landfall early Saturday morning on the east side of Galveston Island and the Houston Ship Channel.

Unfortunately, the news – and city/county folk who make up the Powers That Be – are reporting that the evacuation arteries are so clogged that those who have waited to evacuate may as well hunker down in their homes and ride it out, as the chance of getting out in time is slim.
