    “who sells the best hummus?”

I have a rockin’ recipe for hummus on my blog (August 23rd entry) although the last time I made it, I broke my blender… burned out the motor… which I suppose is due to the thick batter quality of the stuff placing too much of a strain on the blender. The recipe makes a nice size tub of the stuff… so unless you REALLY love hummus, cut the recipe in half.

Otherwise, the Best of Houston Guide is the best, fo shizzle. The problem is that there’s sooooo much to check out… glad it only comes out once a year. Wish they would arrange the categories in alphabetical order on the web site.

Anyway, I (along with a friend) explored a new Greek place (Byzantio Cafe) that rocks as hard as Bibas and Niko Niko’s.

I was a little surprised that Ben & Jerry’s won “best ice cream” category. I thought for sure Amy’s would win hand’s down (they did with the reader’s choice). So I stopped by Ben & Jerry’s on my way home just to check them out. F’eh… it was good. But I still enjoy supporting Amy’s.

(sigh) I wish I could marry Amy…. whoever she is.

I haven’t tried your hummus recipe, but I’d have o say that Skewers on Richmond has some pretty good hummus. I went to another place that did as well, but I can’t remember the name (what good am I?).

I’ll have to check out the Greek place, since I get kind of creeped out by the “Congratulations!” guy at Bibas, and detest the line and seating at Nikos^2 (although they are expanding).

BTW, I think Amy is the cow…
