For all of you slackers who have yet to make your weekend plans, heres what I got for ya.

All you Horror Film fans need to get out early tonight. Starting at 5:30 today and running through midnight Saturday Angelika Film Center is having thier Silver Screems Film Festival.
A great selection of old and new not to mention a bunch of lobby activities to boot.

Not into the freaky scary? Then grab the kids, soak up a little theater and reminise about those childhood books we all love so much.

AD Players present James and the Giant Peach. Its running through Oct 22 but tickets appear to be selling briskly.

Need a little more music in your weekend? Soular Grooves throw down some good sets. Saturdays at Deans Credit Clothing or listen live on KPFT.org

Im not a huge sports fan myself but I cant imagine a better way to check out Monday Night Football than on the big screen with a bunch of random, slightly tipsy, fellow Houstonians.
Alamo Draft House feels this way at least so now theyve got Monday Night Football.
Yes the best movie theater in houston supports yet another of your addictions and its free!

Im saving my money for hockey tickets, but I might pop in and see what all the fuss is about.

ran across a mini cd I had from the Harris County Flood Control District with some really good information on it.
i zipped it and put it up on my site if anyone wants to look at it.
alot of the information is also on their own website.
the stormtracker is a nice little feature that seems to be very up to date.
stay informed, stay prepared and dont let the fear mongers get to you.

this all makes me think about the days when me and my roomates used to get blotto and yell at tornadoes back in missouri, ah to be young and insane again.

Had lunch today at Carter & Cooley, nice little deli on 19th St. Most of you probably know about it since its been around from the dawn of time, but for anyone who is unaware its a nice find. Had a delicious hot pastrami and a little mini peach pie, great stuff. Lots of nice pictures of houston history hanging on the walls. If youre in the area you should stop by and check it out, I will certainly be back.

Went to a company outing at the Saint Arnold Brewing Company last night .
It was a really creative idea for a get together, coupled with some Goode Co barbeque, i certainly couldnt pass it up.
I tried all 6 or 7 kinds they had on tap and ended up walking away with a pint glass for my personal favorite the Elissa IPA, good stuff!
They also give free tours on Saturdays at 1, with free samples!
now where are those leftovers…

One of my all-time favorite places in the world is in my old hometown of Lawrence KS. It was a bar called the Replay and its where I honed my love of the 3 P’s. Punk Rock, PBR and Pinball. Many an afternoon were spent at the ‘Friday Free Play’ chasing down Irish Car Bombs with 1.25 cans of PBR and trying desperately (yet unsucessfully) to beat Attack from Mars.

Now you too can enjoy some free plays (sort of) and get to see a dying artform in all its beauty (minus the car bombs I imagine) at the Pinball & Video Show.
