How walkable is your home?

How neat is is…you insert your address here and find out how walkable your home is (or any address, for that matter) …it’s measured using a number of criteria such as how close you are to a library, park, restaurant, etc…I scored a whopping 74/100 which falls in the Very Walkable category — woot! Thanks to Chris for the heads up!

…So what’s your walk score?!

Being that the ONLY thing in walking distance are other homes, my Walk Score is a dismal 15.

I view my results though with mixed feelings. As a homeowner, I love the fact that there are not a lot of apartment complexes or strip malls nearby. Being surrounded by other homes has huge implications when it comes to increased home values and lower crime rates.

It does make it hard to “save the planet,” get bipedal exercise, or enjoy the one or two days of nice weather a year with a walk.

I got a 52 – but I call bullshit, as there are plenty of things close by to walk to and even a great walking park.

But I forgive them for this… hee hee. Cool link though, despite my bitching :)
