Blue Lacy
I would like to know where in Houston I can pick up a Blue Lacy puppy. No, I’m not talking about a blue lacy thing, I’m referring to the official state dog of Texas. I figured someone out there would know… like maybe Chris?… so I’m posting it here yo.

I am not really sure, I don’t know of any Blue Lacy breeders. I would be careful with any you find over the internet because I have heard of people ending up with other breeds when they thought they were buying Lacys. The link you have in Wikipedia is where I would start… the lacydog.com site. When you get one, I would love to meet him/her and of course, if at all possible a rescue is the best route. :)
I have adopted a Grey Blue Lacy from my neighbor. I took the 8 mnth old male, since they had him Crated 24 hrs a day; I think this is cruel to do to any animal. I am looking for a good home for him. We live here in Florida. Why soemone would breed this type of dog here; is beyond my mind.
He is extremely energetic & needs one on one attention. He is very timid, I believe his prev owner yelled & screamed @ him often, if I raise my voice he goes & hides in the corner. The only reason why I cannot keep him; is he has to much energy for my older animals. If you know of a good family he can go to I would appreciate.
Thanks,
Blue Lacy’s are notoriously sensitive to any raised voiced. It’s part of their breed profile. :) As this website (http://www.breederinfocenter.com/index.php?a_id=20050104202705) points out, “They learn quickly and are very sensitive to harsh voices.”
