Where Am I?

the spider from mars

Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars probably should have landed here.

If you are an Iron Man, then answer in the comments section.

Ooh, ooh, I know! It’s the Houston Pipe & Supply sculpture collection at the corner of Hwy 288 & Belfort.

I knew too! I always want to stop there and take pictures of them!

It’s a great place, and they recently built a stealth bomber there also.

There’s an angle in the U-turn of 288 (the south one) where it looks like the spider is climbing up a hill and snoopy is strafing him.

Also about 2 miles away is an almost unknown park: Go down one exit to Reed Rd, head West, about 200 yards past the rodeo parking lot, on the south side, is an entrance to a park – plenty of trails, elevated platforms, boardwalks, and bird blinds. Even has a little pond and an old cemetery (only 2 or 3 graves). Almost always empty there (except for the occassional coule making out), but bring mosquito repellant.

Mike: Exactly!!! I really enjoyed standing out in the field taking photos and being attacked by affectionate swarms of mosquitos.

Are the three cows on the pole part of the “Cows on Parade” movement?

Steelsun: Thanks for the tip on the park! I will check it out this weekend. At first I thought you were talking about Brazos Bend… but it sounds like what you found is something much smaller.
