Big big news: Ken Lay dies of heart attack

I suspect that many former Enron employees will be surprised to hear that he had a heart to begin with, but Ken Lay died from a massive coronary heart attack early this morning (July 5th).
He and Linda were vacationing in Aspen, Colorado at the time of his death. (see Chronicle and CNN stories)
Update: There are lots of interesting viewpoints and data on Lay’s death on the Chronicle’s Enron TrialWatch blog - add your own on the forums

yeah, i was really surprised with this.. didn’t know that was going to happen either.
I was thinking that he would commit suicide before entering a jail cell. And actually, that’s what I thought had happened when I heard the news.
I suppose now he’s got a greater judge to answer to. Plus, didn’t a couple of people commit suicide after Enron?
J. Clifford Baxter was the Enron exec that commited suicide. I’m not sure if there were others.
