Extensive Coverage on Silicosis in the Chronicle

Houston Chronicle has just printed a fascinating series of articles from Mike Tolson on silicosis lawsuits. The disease is very real as he points out in Migrant’s work gave, and then it took away, but a larger story is the outbreak of lawsuits he covers in-depth with Exposing the truth behind silicosis … and A dozen doctors, 20,000 silicosis cases. This is a great example of long-form journalism I haven’t seen in the Chronicle for a while (if ever, now that I think about it); hopefully it’s a sign of things to come.
