Houston to invade Chicago

Hey Houston MetBloggers! I’m traveling to Chicago in April for a tradeshow and I’m going to attempt to hook up with the Chi-town MetBloggers during my visit. I’ve been in communications with Lauren, Chicago city captain, and it looks like there may be a little something happening during the time I’m in her city.

So… what should I bring our fellow MetBloggers from Houston? Astros tickets? Dirty white socks? I’d like to give them a little something from Houston that’s unique to our city… but what?

Lemme know!

I think you should bring them CDs from a local artist like the El Orbits. Or that new book, Weird Texas I think it is called. Or take some pics around Houston and make postcards at Kinkos to give them. If you don’t have time you can search tags on Flickr and use pics that are under creative commons licenses.

I didn’t know pics could be licensed on flickr. That entire license bit – creative commons, gpl, etc – is kind of curious to me. Isn’t it nothing more than just an honor system?

Oh, and since that doesn’t have anything to do with the original post, here’s a suggestion. Take ’em a good case of Shiner Bock! An aikido instructor from Japan had some while he was here once and called it the nectar of the gods! haha.

nikkos from Metblogs Chicago here- Funny, I was just in your fair city for a trade show. I posted ne of my more amusing experiences just momenta ago- check it out:

“Welcome to Nikkos’ World: A True Story from My Trip To Houston, TX”

Enjoy! Look forward to seeing you in the Chi!

P.S.: Lugging a case of Shiner is probably out of the question, but should you bring a six pack, I can give it a good home. :)

Beer is always the gift of choice! I don’t want to bring shot glasses… because you can get them anywhere… BUT…. I was thinking of bringing several Texas shotglasses and taking them to a bar to be used by the patrons.

I am not making any sense right now because I’m existing on 4 hours of sleep.

Look! I can type the number three!
