Greywater makes a difference at Rice University

I noticed a blurb on Rice University’s new graywater irrigation system in the latest edition of Earth Island Journal, an earth-hippie-happy magazine that randomly made its way into our mailbox this week.

This irrigation system uses runoff water from the Rice Stadium to irrigate the practice football field – helping to re-use a valuable natural resource and potentially save the university tens of thousands of bucks every year. Cool idea.
