Diet Billboards

It’s a new year, which means people will be making a bunch of new year’s resolutions they’re not going to keep. With Houston topping the fattest city of the nation list, it’s no wonder why dieting is one of the most popular new year’s resolutions.

With that in mind, is it just me, or are there an increasing number of billboards advertising diet/low-fat foods and products? Seems like now would be the best time for companies to capitalize on the resolutions before people start slacking off.

It’s interesting that you don’t see these billboards during the holidays, when people are busy eating tons of food. I guess the companies figure that they don’t want to make you feel guilty, resulting in you eating even more, so that afterwards they can try to appeal to making you “healthier” by advertising their products. It’s almost like they’re fattening us up before they empty our pockets.

Tricky marketers.
