Astros Advance to NLCS in Dramatic Fashion

“The Rocket,” Roger Clemens came in as a reliever for the first time since his rookie season and came out with a 7-6 win. He entered in the 16th inning as the Astros had just about run out of players and held on for the win in the 18th inning. The game broke numerous records including longest game in postseason history, most innings in a postseason game, most players used in a game, and many, many, more. It was Chris Burke’s homer in the bottom of the 18th that sends Houston to their second straight National League Championship Series.

The Astros will again face the St. Louis Cardinals, the team that beat them in the NLCS last season.
