Websites aimed at reuniting Katrina victims

I was coralling some links to websites devoted to reuniting families and I came across this already comprehensive list from the Houston Chronicle. They’ve even specified libraries for evacuees to go to if they do not have internet access. If you are looking for a loved one I suggest you hit these sites to search and post ads as soon as possible.

A co-worker of mine was volunteering over the weekend at the Astrodome. She was talking to a woman from New Orleans, made friends with her and took down her friend’s email address. However, when she tried to send email to that person once she got home she realized that she had written it down incorrectly. She searched all of these sites for this woman’s family and friends. Finally, she entered a search for the woman’s first name which was very unique. Within 10 minutes she had a cell phone number and was able to reunite the woman with a friend who is currently staying in Houston.
