    Oh, get a grip.

Having survived Washington, DC, New Orleans, AND Houston summers, I can say that the Onion has not distorted the description. The weather IS miserable, the traffic IS ridiculous, and Houston has repeatedly had major issues with the air quality.

Yeah, but our food is good.

And our women are beautiful… much more friendly than those Yankee girls.

Kymberlie: and the food of New Orleans isn’t? Come on, Houston isn’t exactly world-famous for cuisine. (On the other hand, they don’t have Goode Company…)

Governor: Yankee women? Who was talking about Yankees? Non sequitor…and besides, Yankee women know how to keep you warm on cold nights, something rarely experienced in Houston (unless you crank the A/C down to “Polar”.)

I grew up in Houston in the 50’s and 60’s, came back and worked in Houston through the 70’s and 80’s, CAME BACK to Houston in 2000 for another four years…I’ve seen the transformations first hand.

Guillame: I didn’t say NOLA didn’t have good food, I just said we have good food too. :-)

No one from New Orleans can complain about Houston.
Houston has shown the world that we have the hearts and minds to help out our fellow Americans.
I don’t understand why people complain and whine about Houston. Just leave!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s hot and humid well so is Miami and New Orleans. The food is bad well stop eating at that same resturant you idiot!!!!!!!!!

Bottom line is if you hate it so much then leave. I am pretty sure New Orleans or New York will welcome you with open arms.

If you don’t like Houston leave, fast. Your not wanted. I’ve travled the world and country extensively and contrary to popular belief, not all Texans are “rednecks without teeth” Our women are beautiful and the food is so diversed and creative. Texas is like no other state and shouldn’t be compared. Texas should be another country. So, if you don’t like traveling out of country – don’t. Until then, sit in your snow, eat your veggie pizzas and watch your stupid Hockey.

Houston has its faults, no doubt, but it’s grown on me…sort of like fungus.

And Dallas women are much snootier, of course.
