Houston, we’re back to space!

Wednesday, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida will be the site of our “Return to Flight.” Shortly thereafter, the folks at Houston’s Johnson Space Center will take over support of the Space Shuttle Discovery. The liftoff is scheduled for 3PM and will be covered LIVE on the Science Channel.

Pictured here is the STS-114 crew. In front are astronauts Eileen M. Collins (right), commander; Wendy B. Lawrence, mission specialist; and James M. Kelly, pilot. In back are astronauts Stephen K. Robinson (left), Andrew S. W. Thomas, Charles J. Camarda, and Soichi Noguchi, all mission specialists. Noguchi represents Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

Good luck, and Godspeed.

Not completely related to this particular mission – but here’s a link to the NASA music wake-up call index: http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/audio/shuttle/sts-107/html/ndxpage1.html.

Now we can all wake up like the astronauts do!!!

Wow! Quite a selection: Yehoram Gaon, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Peter Paul & Mary, Talking Heads, and Ravi Shankar.

Pretty neat stuff – I suppose it’s an honor to have your song played for astronauts!

But if NASA is allowing these files to be downloaded… are they participating in illegal file sharing!?
