Review: Eduardo’s Mexican Resteraunt

Eduardo’s Mexican Resteraunt is a family owned business located in the heart of Stafford, TX at the southwest corner of FM 1092 (Murphy Road) and S Main (Hwy 90).

Eduardo’s prides itsself on authentic tex-mex eats, with a flair of family and home-spun cookery. The food contains the typical tex-mex fare with entre prices in the low to low-moderate price range ($5.95 - $12.95).

My family and I have eaten at Eduardo’s so often over the past several months that we will often find our drinks and a guacamole salad (our typical apetizer) waiting on our usual table, before we can actually make it to the table. The majority of the waitstaff can be told “the usual,” and remember what it is each of us tends to order.

Eduardo’s starts you off with the traditional basket of chips, and bowl of red sauce/salsa, as well as a bowl containing jalepno, onion, and carrot slices. Unlike a lot of resteraunts, I have to commend Eduardo’s on cooking their complimentary carrots until they are done - soft enough to eat on top of a chip. My mother, particularly, loves the carrots and routinely orders at least one bowl of “just carrots” (which has become our family’s nickname for the establishment). The red sauce is neither too hot, nor too bland. As is typical with most resteraunts, the heat of the sauce changes marginally from day to day, but is always edible, even for those with sensitive mouths.

Houston Revealed #14

Wow. A big hand to Andrew Rebman for identifying last week’s photo as the Montagu Hotel. I didn’t think anyone would get that one. AND Andrew is our first person to be a repeat winner. Which means we have a lot of sharp eyed Houstonians. Andrew is just currently a little sharper! Of course we have one picture that still has not been identified. Someday.

But on with the show. Here is this week’s picture. I will be amazed if people get this one. Where was this picture taken?

Imploding Inversion

inversion vortex.jpg

In a continuation of my bizarre love for disposable art (graffiti, stenciling, etc.) I’ve been all about the Art League’s Inversion house installation.

It looks like this crazy wooden vortex of insanity, sitting nice and pretty at the corner of Montrose Blvd. and Willard St.

UPDATE: Still not sure what’s so great about Pollo Campero

A small group of us FINALLY went out to eat fried chicken at Pollo Campero.

The environment was very bright plastic prefabricated, like any typical American fast food place. They even had an indoor playground like Mickey D

Because bingo was never meant to be straight

If you’re like me and completely and absolutely love bingo (how can you not!?), you may be pleased to hear about Meteor’s Drag Queen Bingo Night every Tuesday from 8-11pm.

You can win nifty prizes and take advantage of random drink specials, but mostly be ready for feisty banter from the va-va-voom bingo ladies.

Houston Revealed #13

Howdy 24-hour photo people!

We have a winner for the mid-point prize of Houston Revealed! David Ting-Jui Chang - who correctly guessed Houston Revealed #8 - is the winner of a $20 gift certificate to Massa’s seafood reastaurant. Mazeltov!

But that’s not all the good news we have for you.

Chris Sunstrom correctly guessed the photo for Houston Revealed #12 as being JPMorgan Chase Park. You rock Chris!

And now, let’s get on with Houston Revealed photo number thirteen. Remember that (a) you can play more than once and (b) all photos are from somewhere downtown.

Houston Revealed Photo #13... it's your lucky number, Judas!
