Congratulations Houston Press (c/w Thoughts on Food)

Even though I have been misquoted and the subject of their venom, I would like to congratulate the Houston Press on 15 years of service to our fair city. Without it, I’m not sure how I would figure out what to do with my discretionary time and income.

Did anyone catch the review of the Montrose Diner in the current issue? Holy cows! Is the place really THAT bad?

And speaking of food

Hmm … I don’t know if I’d say Montrose Diner is *THAT* bad, but our coupla experiences there were less than awesome. A lot can be forgiven in speed if the food is great, but (IMO) few things make up for bad food.

Thanks for the tip on the Med place, I’ve been wondering if it was any good.

The place at the corner is called Alladin’s? It’s a Fadi’s restaurant. They have a larger location across from Meyerland Plaza.

    That’s right… Alladin’s! Where is Meyerland Plaza?

I’ve heard that it’s a buffet. I normally don’t like buffets but I think I’ll try it out this weekend before I head out to the Art Car Parade.

Meyerland Plaza is at the corner of 610 and Beechnut. Lots of chain/franchise restaurants in that area.
