A great day to explore…
Have you ever checked out the Japanese Gardens in Hermann Park? If not, you are missing a rare treat. It is hidden away – in fact, I had been to the park for over a decade without noticing it. Talk about a peaceful place to take a date, a book, or even a camera.
Don’t think that’s enough to keep you occupied? Check out 101 Things to do in Hermann Park.
Where is this at in Hermann Park? Near the Zoo. I confess that I’ve only been to the Zoo and to the Miller Outdoor Theatre.
Yes, the Zoo is IN Hermann Park as is the Miller. The Japanese Gardens can be found by walking down the reflecting pond toward the obelisk (away from the IMAX and Cockrell Butterfly Center) and looking to your right when you reach the southern end. Enjoy!
I checked out that 101 Things list, and it’s pretty lame. Count trees? Sit on a bench? Pick up trash? “Take a nap” shows up twice. There are some fun things on the list, but they could easily cull this down to 25 Things.
